The project at Dean was a highly challenging two-story renovation that required thoughtful structural and spatial reconfiguration. One of the most significant changes was redesigning the main stairwell to dramatically open up the living space. Originally, the kitchen and dining areas were separated from the living room, creating a disconnected layout. By reworking the floor plan, we were able to create a more cohesive and expansive main level. Because of the extensive structural changes involved, the project required full permitting through the City of Tustin. The design leaned confidently into a modern motif, setting a bold and clean architectural tone throughout the home. To balance the modernity, we introduced traditional touches such as checkered flooring and a classic butler’s pantry. Ultimately, the Dean project was about challenging the status quo and delivering a space with undeniable wow factor.​
